On September 10, 2024, the University of Oulu hosted AI Developer Day, a collaborative event co-organized by the Industrial Engineering and Management research unit and LessonLab. This workshop brought together LessonLab’s partners from Åbo Akademi, VTT, the University of Reykjavik, and Centria University of Applied Sciences. The event focused on exploring AI-driven applications in education and research.

Introducing Taito: A versatile AI learning Tool

AI Developer Day marked the launch of LessonLab’s Taito platform to its partner network. Taito, a game-based and AI-driven technology, enables the creation of realistic simulations for training, education, and research. With no programming skills required, Taito makes it easy for institutions to model real-world scenarios and interactions across diverse learning environments.

Collaborative development with Taito

During the event, partners tested Taito’s ability to model phenomena across various contexts—ranging from nuclear safety to case-based learning, shipbuilding risk assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Partners demonstrated their prototypes to each other to exchange ideas and provide feedback for further development. The positive feedback highlighted Taito’s adaptability, reinforcing its potential as a valuable tool for educational and research organizations.

Future development and continued collaboration

As part of LessonLab’s ongoing commitment to innovation, the Taito platform will continue to evolve. Upcoming updates will enable users to simulate even more complex phenomena, further enhancing the platform’s versatility for developing AI-driven solutions. Participants of AI Developer Day left with plans to advance their prototypes and continue collaborating on future projects.
